provides a sample of the on site programming possibilities that

Active Sitting for Better Backs - This interactive
workshop is designed to teach participants the fundamentals of
developing a stronger, more functional back with the use of an
exercise ball. The concept of "active sitting" will bring new
meaning to decreasing upper and lower back pain right at their
desk.
Office Ergonomics - Achieving proper posture
is the key to relieving discomfort and fatigue. This session
provides information increasing the employee's awareness of ergonomics.
Led by a certified ergonomist, this workshop helps the participant
improve the basic ergonomics of their workstation.
Nutrition - Just the Basics - Explore the
Food Pyramid in this session - including the major groups, why
they are important and unlocking the mystery of portion sizes.
This program can also be delivered in an extended format, or
in a food challenge format.
Fitness 101 - This workshop explores the
basic principles of exercise and fitness. Participants learn basic anatomy
and physiology of cardiovascular and muscle systems, and investigate
how to increase their level of muscular fitness, aerobic fitness,
and flexibility. A practical component is included.
Stress: Taking Control - Stress
is a reality of life for everyone. Sometimes we feel energized
by the challenges and satisfied when we accomplish our goals.
But there are times when we believe that just one more issue
or task will overwhelm us. This session is designed to help participants
identify ways of dealing with stress, and build resiliency and
work-life balance into daily living. Topics include: What is
stress, where does it come from, what does it do to us and tips
and techniques to develop coping strategies and build resiliency.
Active Living for a Healthy Lifestyle- Educate and motivate employees to start or become more active. Join Strength
Tek's fitness professionals as they discuss how to get started
in a more active lifestyle. The session will include information
on establishing a fitness routine and developing strategies to assist participants in sticking to their plan and achieving their goals. Help your employees take their first
step toward a more active and healthier lifestyle!
Living with Arthritis - Arthritis affects more
adults than cancer, heart disease and respiratory conditions.
During this information session, participants will learn about
arthritis and how it impacts the body (joints), common forms of
arthritis, the importance of working with a treatment team, nutrition
and exercise and tips for living well. A question and answer
period will also be included in this session and each participant
will receive resource material. |
